Home Biology Clicker Courses RF Clicker Course Password Register Clicker ID Setting Clicker Channel Responding to Questions |
In order for your clicker to be recognized by the software used in
class, the personal device ID code embedded in your clicker must be registered with
the MCDB clicker database so your instructor will know which responses are
yours. Each student must have a unique personal device ID code so it is not possible
to share clickers with another student even if they are enrolled in a
different class using the clickers.
- To register your ResponseCard RF clicker (device),
please note the alphanumeric code which is your personal device id on the back your
transmitter (see below).

- Login to the MCDB Clicker Database web site using your course username
and password
http://tutor.lscf.ucsb.edu/TPEMstudent
- Once logged in you must first register the serial number of your
clicker:
- Click on the "Add Device" link on the menu bar
- Type in the serial number (Personal Device ID) in both the "Key Pad"
and "Confirm ID" boxes,
(please do this very carefully as entering the wrong code can cause
serious problems. The Device ID code is hexadecimal and thus will
never have the capital letter O or the lower case letter l.
- Click the "Add" button
- Now, associate your clicker with the class you are enrolled in:
- Click on the "Add Class" menu item. You'll see a list of all MCDB
classes using the clicker this quarter.
- Click
the "Select" link at the left of the class name (make sure you get the correct
quarter and instructor for the class you are taking!) and it will be
highlighted.
- Click the "Add to Class" button above to register your clicker with
your class
